At the meeting, the Chairman of the City People's Committee directly inspected the progress of the Cai Gia Urban Tourism Area Investment Project (Cat Ba Amatina) and the Cat Ba Central Bay Tourism and Commercial Service Project.
The Cat Ba Amatina project has a total scale of 172.38 hectares with a total investment of VND 10,974 billion, oriented to become a green, modern urban tourism area, integrating international-class resort and entertainment services. To date, the project has completed many technical infrastructure items and is implementing architectural works in phase 1.

For the Cat Ba Central Bay Tourism and Trade Service Project, this is a project that plays a particularly important role in urban beautification and raising the value of the Cat Ba archipelago World Natural Heritage. The project has an area of about 49.88 hectares in Cat Ba town with a total estimated investment of more than VND 12,495 billion. The goal of the project is to build a resort urban area, a modern commercial service center, synchronized with high-end projects including high-end hotels, resort apartments and bustling commercial neighborhoods. Currently, the project is focusing on implementing site clearance and relocating old infrastructure to create space for functional subdivisions according to the plan.
Through on-site inspection, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that Cat Ba is facing a new development opportunity after Cat Ba archipelago and Ha Long Bay were recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage. Therefore, projects need to implement the planning correctly, ensuring harmony between economic development with heritage value conservation and sustainable environmental protection. The Chairman requested relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with Cat Hai Special Zone to promptly remove obstacles, and at the same time inspect and supervise to ensure the projects are completed and put into operation soon.
