Located in the center of Lao Cai City, Nhac Son Park has been in use since 2004 with a total area of 15 hectares, of which the lake's surface area is 5.6 hectares.
This place is one of the major cultural and entertainment activities, attracting a large number of people in the city to participate.
However, after 20 years of use, the cultural works of Lao Cai border province are increasingly deteriorating. Therefore, many people are looking forward to upgrading and renovating to change the city's landscape.
The Nhac Son Park renovation and repair project has a total investment of 126 billion VND, implemented from 2023-2026. Of which, phase 1 is more than 88.8 billion VND, phase 2 is more than 37 billion VND.
The project uses additional provincial budget sources with land use fee revenue and increases tax, fee, and other revenue, saving city budget expenditures.
In early June 2025, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter at Nhac Son Park in the center of Lao Cai City on Hoang Lien Street showed that many items of the project had been completed.
Through observation, the stone sidewalk system in front of Nhac Son Park has been completed, and Le Quy Don Street next door has also completed the expansion. This helps the landscape around the area become more airy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (Lao Cai City) shared that people really hope the project will be completed soon so that the city will have more green space, creating a highlight for the central area.
According to Ms. Van, Nhac Son Park is a place where many people gather every morning and evening to have fun and exercise. But after many years, the space here is gradually deteriorating, causing loss of aesthetics.
Similarly, Mr. Bui Van Toan (Lao Cai City) hopes that the renovation of Nhac Son Park, when completed, will create more space for public activities, helping people have a place to play and entertain.
"This park is a place where many people go for walks and exercise every morning and afternoon. We hope that the project will soon complete the remaining items so that this area can become an ideal place for outdoor activities and entertainment for the people," Mr. Toan added.
The first phase of the Nhac Son Park renovation project includes the following items: dismantling fences, paving sidewalks around the park; expanding Le Quy Don Street, building a 28 m long, 4 m wide landscape arch bridge has been implemented in phase 1.
Phase 2 includes items: renovation, replacement of lighting and decorative electrical systems; planting trees, lawns; installing exercise equipment, outdoor sports and some other auxiliary items.
The construction unit is a joint venture of Duc Manh Construction Company, Nam Phong Construction Company and Thao Nguyen Construction Company.
Information from the Lao Cai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Nhac Son Park renovation and upgrading project phase 1 has been completed.
Phase 2 is currently suspended pending the arrangement and organization of the administrative apparatus and the merger of Lao Cai - Yen Bai provinces.
