On September 9, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province worked with Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and related units on compensation and site clearance for the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project in Tri An commune.
According to EVN representative, this is an important national project and project, a key focus of the energy sector. When completed, the project will add about 113 million kWh of electricity/year to the system, contributing to improving the ability to mobilize capacity for the southern region.
However, site clearance is still facing many difficulties and problems, affecting construction progress.
The Hieu Liem bridge project has been started since the end of 2024, but there is still no construction site for the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, which is at risk of being behind schedule and directly affecting the transportation plan of materials and equipment for the construction of the main project.
For the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion, construction was started on August 19, 2025, but the new investor was handed over nearly 21/9ha of land (about 23%). The second phase of land handover and lease application has been submitted but is waiting to be resolved.
From the above reality, EVN recommends that the locality urgently determine the origin of the land, establish and approve compensation, support and resettlement plans to pay and hand over the site for the project, especially the site for the approach roads at both ends of Hieu Liem bridge that are urgent.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee - proposed that Tri An Commune People's Committee establish a team to confirm the actual land origin to ensure the rights of the people in land recovery. Mobilize people to agree in principle to hand over the site. Approving compensation and support plans before September 20.
Previously, on December 29, 2024, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) held a ceremony to launch the construction of Hieu Liem bridge under the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project. Hieu Liem Bridge is an important item of the project, approved as a level II project with a length of 249.5 m and a width of 9 m. The bridge was built to serve the transportation of materials and equipment during the project construction process.
After the project was completed, Hieu Liem Bridge was left to serve the travel needs of people in the area, helping to connect traffic and contributing to the socio-economic development of the area.
