Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 11/2026/QD-UBND regulating compensation, support and resettlement when the State recovers land in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Article 14 of the decision, people whose land is recovered if they hand over the site ahead of schedule as prescribed in point b, clause 4, Article 87 of the 2024 Land Law will be considered for rewards.
For cases where all land is recovered, households and individuals are rewarded with a sum of compensation and support for land but not exceeding 50 million VND/household.
For organizations (excluding state agencies and administrative and non-business units), the maximum bonus is 100 million VND/organization.
In case only a part of the land area belonging to the project is recovered, the bonus level is 50% compared to the above regulations. Households and individuals can receive a maximum of 25 million VND, while organizations can receive a maximum of 50 million VND.
This policy is expected to create motivation for households to hand over land soon, contributing to accelerating the progress of infrastructure projects in the city.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, in the period from now to 2030, the city prioritizes the deployment of 6 metro lines including: Metro line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong section); Metro line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Thu Thiem section); Thu Thiem - Long Thanh line; Binh Duong New City Metro - Suoi Tien; phase 1 of Metro line No. 6 (Tan Son Nhat - Phu Huu); Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro.
In addition, many key transport projects and important national projects will also be implemented such as the North-South high-speed railway, large bridges including Phu My 2 bridge, Can Gio bridge, Cat Lai bridge, Thu Thiem 4 bridge; 4 BOT projects National Highway 1, 13, 22, North-South trunk road,...
With a series of large-scale infrastructure projects, the volume of land to be recovered, compensated and resettled in Ho Chi Minh City in the near future is forecast to be very large.
