Supporting additional money to build toilets when eliminating temporary houses in Ca Mau

Ca Mau - Support funding for building toilets outside the funding period to support the construction of new and repaired houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Of the 4,400 houses under the program, 3,124 houses do not have hygienic hygiene units and have been directed by Ca Mau province to support additional construction costs. Of which, 81 cases were mobilized by localities to socialize for construction. For the remaining 3,043 houses, the province will support construction costs at a rate of 5 million VND/house, in addition to the funding rate for supporting the construction and repair of houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses (60 million VND for newly built houses, 30 million VND for repair).

For cases that have completed the construction of houses and hygienic wastewater reactors, but have not yet received funding support for the construction of hygienic wastewater reactors, the province will continue to support each case with 5 million VND to carry out other auxiliary projects. At the same time, there must be solutions to manage and use them for the right purposes, ensuring that support funding sources reach the people, not allowing negativity to arise, taking advantage of policies for profit.

For cases that have not yet started construction, in addition to allocating funds to support the construction and repair of new houses according to the standards prescribed in the program, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan proposed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province allocate additional funds to support the construction of hygienic wastewater reactors, with a quota of 5 million VND/unit for localities to implement. Requesting provincial departments, branches, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to regularly monitor, inspect, urge, and promptly guide localities to remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the implementation progress, ensuring the completion of the program before June 30, 2025 according to the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the report of the specialized agency, by March 17, 2025, localities have started construction and repair of 2,274 houses under the temporary and dilapidated house removal program in the province, reaching about 52% of the plan (4,400 houses). 1,403 units have been completed, the total disbursed cost is nearly 118 billion VND, reaching 81% of the allocated cost.
