In July 2025, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a decision approving the project to adjust the planning of the residential area of Xuong Huan - Van Thanh wards (now in Nha Trang ward).
The planned area is about 98.56ha, located in a prime location along the coast, adjacent to the Cai River and major routes such as: Tran Phu, Yersin, 2/4...
The project aims to concretize the General Planning of Nha Trang city until 2040 (according to Decision 259/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2024), while creating a basis for implementing detailed plans and investment projects in the area.
The project to orient the area to become a coastal urban area combined with the renovation of existing residential areas. The project also aims to supplement administrative land funds, public services and tourism works.
It is forecasted that by 2040, the population of the area will be about 20,050 people. Residential land occupies about 37.68ha. Of which, land for housing groups accounts for about 25.34 hectares. Housing areas are allowed to have a maximum of 27 floors, the construction density is not more than 80%.
Mixed-use housing and service land allows construction of a maximum of 33 floors. Commercial service works, offices, hotels... can be built up to 20 floors high. In particular, tourism service areas are allowed to have a maximum of 40 floors.
Relic and religious areas such as communal houses, pagodas, etc. will be preserved in their original state, ensuring religious space and cultural and historical values.
The planning focuses on arranging parks and trees along Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong road to create a coastal landscape strip connecting tourism works.
The main streets are encouraged to be renovated in a modern, harmonious direction and preserve the identity of Nha Trang coastal urban area.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee hopes that this planning will help form a modern coastal urban area with synchronous social infrastructure.
Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of life and promoting the development of tourism - trade - services in line with the development orientation of Nha Trang becoming the leading coastal tourism city in the region.
