On August 8, Lao Cai Ward People's Committee coordinated with Lao Cai Forestry Products Import-Export Processing Co., Ltd. to start the Lao Cai Assembled Wood Production Workshop Project in Residential Group No. 43 Ban Phiet.
The project has an investment capital of 160 billion VND, with a designed capacity of 200,000 m3 of finished pressed planks per year.
The project was approved for investment policy and investor approval by the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board in Decision No. 117 dated July 16, 2026. The investor is Lao Cai Forestry Products Import-Export Processing Co., Ltd.
The factory is deployed on an area of more than 52,173 m2, with a total investment of 160 billion VND, including 60 billion VND of investor capital and 100 billion VND of mobilized capital.
The operating term is 50 years from the date of land allocation, land lease or permission to change land use purpose according to regulations.
The project's objective is to process glued wood, bamboo, pressed planks, thin planks and related products. Design capacity 200,000 m3 of finished pressed planks/year, divided into 2 phases.
In which, phase 1 produces standard pressed wooden planks, with a capacity of 150,000 m3/year. Phase 2 produces high-class film-coated pressed wooden planks, with a capacity of 50,000 m3/year.
The main items include production workshops, offices, product display houses, dining halls, worker parking garages, security houses, transformer stations, fire prevention and fighting works, wastewater treatment stations, weigh stations, internal transportation systems, green trees and auxiliary works.
According to the approved schedule, phase 1 will be implemented from July 2026 to December 2027.
During this time, investors complete procedures on land, environment, fire prevention and fighting and construction; deploy leveling ground, building technical infrastructure, factories, offices and auxiliary works.
In Q4 of 2027, the project will purchase and install equipment and put phase 1 into operation.
Phase 2 is implemented from January to December 2029, focusing on completing the remaining items, installing equipment and putting the entire project into operation in the fourth quarter of 2029.
When operating stably, the project is expected to achieve revenue of 1,600 - 2,000 billion VND/year, creating regular jobs for about 450 - 500 workers, with an average income of 10 - 15 million VND/person/month.
