Lao Cai starts construction of a 350 billion VND spice processing factory

Lao Cai - On July 11, Son Ha Spices Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build a spice production and processing factory in Xuan Ai commune.

The project to build a spice factory of Son Ha Spices Company Limited has a total investment of more than 350 billion VND, on an area of nearly 48,000m2 in an area with favorable natural conditions and abundant raw materials.

When put into operation, the factory has the capacity to produce 50 tons of cinnamon and fresh cinnamon/day; process 5,000 tons of dry materials/year with key products such as: cinnamon, fine cinnamon, ABC cinnamon and dried cinnamon.

According to the leaders of Lao Cai province, this is an important event, a great joy not only for businesses but also a milestone in attracting investment, developing processing industry and enhancing the value of local agricultural products.

The project to build a spice processing and production factory in Xuan Ai commune has been started to create a new value chain, from raw material areas to final products, meeting the strict standards of the domestic and international markets.

Lao Cai is a Northern Midland and Mountainous Province with great potential for agricultural and forestry development, especially herbs such as cinnamon, salmon, cardamom, etc.

Currently, Lao Cai province has more than 144,000 hectares of cinnamon growing area, of which the concentrated, specialized area is about 97,000 hectares, the cinnamon area is granted an organic certification of over 23,700 hectares, with the annual dry cinnamon peel output reaching more than 25,000 tons, cinnamon essential oil about 1,000 tons per year.
