On May 7, in Gia Phu commune, Lao Cai province, the groundbreaking ceremony of Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster took place with a total investment of 860 billion VND.
The project is oriented to develop according to the green industrial model, circular economy and ESG standards, expected to create new momentum for industrial production in the northern gateway area.
Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster has a scale of nearly 75ha, planned to attract agricultural and forestry product processing, food, pharmaceuticals; furniture and wood production; supporting industries, mechanics, electronics, refrigeration and garment.
According to the plan, the project will be put into operation from the first quarter of 2027, creating jobs for thousands of local workers, while contributing to promoting industrial growth, increasing budget revenue and economic restructuring in Gia Phu area and neighboring localities.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc - Standing Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee - said that Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster is not only a simple infrastructure project but also the starting point for the local green and sustainable industrial - logistics ecosystem.
According to leaders of Lao Cai province, the completion of 100% of site clearance work before the commencement time shows the great determination of the locality to create conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule.
The highlight of the project lies in the ecological orientation right from the planning stage.
The investor reserves about 13% of the area for green trees, and at the same time synchronously invests in a wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 2,000m3/day and night, a water supply system of 25,000m3/day and night, and a 252MVA power station.
Representatives of the investor said that the entire infrastructure is built in the direction of meeting increasingly strict environmental, governance and sustainable development standards from international investors.

Mr. Pham Quoc Viet - General Director of Lao Cai Industrial Development Investment Joint Stock Company - affirmed that the enterprise is committed to building a circular industrial ecosystem from the beginning, implementing the project to ensure quality, strictly complying with legal regulations and environmental protection requirements.
Right at the groundbreaking ceremony, the investor signed cooperation agreements with many businesses from Yunnan province (China) in the fields of high-tech agriculture, import-export and cross-border e-commerce.
At the same time, businesses also signed investment promotion cooperation agreements to attract more investors to the industrial cluster in the coming time.
