On the morning of June 3, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense's Equipment Council held a Conference to approve projects, programs, and contents related to equipment work.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chairman of the Council - chaired the conference.
According to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal, reporting at the conference, representatives of the Military Personnel Department (General Staff) - the Standing Agency of the Ministry of National Defense's Equipment Council briefly reported on projects, programs, and contents related to equipment work to serve training, combat readiness, army building, and technical assurance tasks in the coming time.
The report focuses on clarifying the equipment needs of forces, armed services, and military branches; and at the same time proposes solutions to improve efficiency in research, production, procurement, management, exploitation, use and preservation of weapons and technical equipment.
At the conference, Council members contributed many profound and responsible opinions to each project and program.
The opinions focused on clarifying the legal basis, feasibility, investment efficiency, and resource assurance capacity; and at the same time proposed solutions to ensure synchronization between equipment work and the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Army.

Speaking to direct at the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that equipment work plays a particularly important role in improving the overall quality, combat strength and combat readiness of the Army.
Therefore, the development, completion and implementation of projects, programs, and contents related to equipment work must closely follow the requirements of military and national defense tasks, in accordance with practical conditions; ensuring scientific, synchronous, effective, economical and maximizing resources.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the Standing Agency of the Council to receive comments at the conference; continue to review and complete dossiers and documents, ensuring quality and progress according to regulations.
Relevant agencies and units strengthen coordination in the process of organization and implementation; promote the application of science, technology, and digital transformation in management, exploitation and technical assurance for weapons and technical equipment; research and develop unified regulations in research, production, procurement and equipment management, meeting the requirements of modernization of the Army.
The Ministry of National Defense's Equipment Council has unanimously approved projects, programs and contents related to equipment work to report to the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission for consideration and resolution.
The approved contents are aimed at improving the efficiency of research, production, procurement, management and exploitation of weapons and technical equipment; expanding defense production capacity, contributing to building a modern Army, meeting the requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
