Son My 1 Industrial Park Project, Ham Tan District has the Son My Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Port warehouse project with a total land area to be compensated and cleared of 69.01 hectares/61 households, individuals and 2 organizations.
From 2023, the Son My LNG Port warehouse project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policy for Son My LNG Port warehouse Company Limited to implement in Son My commune, Ham Tan district. This is one of the largest LNG port warehouse projects in Vietnam. The project has a total investment of more than 1.3 billion USD, and will provide 3.6 million tons of LNG/year.

In addition, there is a Power Center project with a total land area to be compensated and cleared of 137.04 hectares/5 households and 6 organizations; the Road Area and Operation House project has a total land area to be compensated and cleared of 169.47 hectares/3 households and 1 organization.
The goal of the Son My LNG Port project is to build an LNG warehouse to serve the Son My I and Son My II Thermal Power Plants; LNG import port. The scale of the project is more than 3,500 hectares, of which the land area used as an LNG storage area is about 50 hectares.
Up to now, the Son My LNG Port warehouse project has completed the inventory for households and organizations. The People's Committee of Son My commune also held a meeting to consider the legality of the households and conduct procedures through the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council, appraisal and approval of compensation plans, etc.

The Son My LNG Port warehouse Project is important for national energy security and the Southern provinces and cities, and is a series of projects that create momentum for the socio-economic development of the province. Therefore, the leaders of Binh Thuan province have requested relevant departments, branches and localities to create favorable conditions for investors to speed up the project's progress, especially compensation and site clearance so that the project can be implemented, completed and put into use according to the set schedule.
