On September 6th, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province approved the general planning task for 5 adjacent wards in the Da Lat region, including Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Xuan Truong - Da Lat and Lang Biang - Da Lat.
Da Lat urban area has a scale of more than 68,000ha, with short-term planning orientation to 2030 and long-term to 2050.

According to the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, by 2050, Da Lat urban area is expected to have more than 756,000 people, including about 485,000 urban residents and 271,000 people converted from tourists. The number of tourists is expected to reach more than 17 million.
The goal by 2050 is for 5 central wards of Da Lat to become one of the dynamic and sustainable urban areas of Lam Dong province and the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
The plan also aims to preserve the heritage, cultural, climate, terrain, architectural space and typical landscape values of Da Lat.
Da Lat urban area is oriented to develop according to the model of a highland urban area, resort tourism, ecology, gradually meeting international standards.
Regarding infrastructure, Lam Dong province orients towards building a synchronous and modern system; renovating the existing transportation network, combining the development of underground space, parking lots and drainage systems.
These solutions aim to contribute to solving traffic congestion, local flooding and improving the quality of urban infrastructure. At the same time, urban development is associated with embellishing existing areas, completing technical infrastructure in a smart, green, modern and climate-adaptive direction.
Da Lat continues to be oriented to preserve heritage values, culture, climate, architectural space, typical landscapes and recognized brands such as Flower Festival City and Music Creative City.
