After merging the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, the new name will be Thai Nguyen, the administrative center will be located in the current Thai Nguyen City. It is expected that 1,500 cadres will go from Bac Kan to the locality to work.
With a distance of 80km from Bac Kan City to Thai Nguyen City, the need for housing for cadres after the merger is being of interest.

Currently, Thai Nguyen is implementing a series of housing projects with segments from mid-range to high-end, ready to meet the living conditions for civil servants and laborers.
In Tich Luong ward (Thai Nguyen city), the social housing project started construction in March 2024, with a scale of 11.3 hectares. The project is located near National Highway 37, about 5km from the city center. Phase 1 of the project has a total investment of 300 billion VND, building 11 buildings from 5 to 10 floors high.
When completed, the project will provide nearly 700 apartments, meeting housing needs.
Compared to the center of Thai Nguyen City, the mixed-use residential - commercial - high-rise service building project in Hoang Van Thu ward is gradually taking shape. The project is nearly 1ha wide, including 2 basements and 36 upper floors.
When completed, the project will provide hundreds of apartments with modern commercial space and offices, serving about 1,900 people.

Also in Thai Nguyen, the whole province has implemented the construction of 13 commercial apartment buildings. Of which, the TECCO COMPLE project in Thinh Dan ward still has about 700 apartments, with a selling price of about 1.3 - 1.5 billion/apartment.
The two projects are Green House in Group 10, Tich Luong Ward with 476 apartments, expected to start construction in August 2025, and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
According to the Department of Construction of Thai Nguyen province, after the arrangement of administrative units, the provincial level has 18 headquarters, 43 district-level headquarters and 66 redundant commune-level headquarters and is being recalculated for functions.
At the same time, 190 dormitories at universities and colleges in the area can be renovated for use. The headquarters of the Provincial Farmers' Union currently has 28 newly built rooms (2 people/room), with sufficient amenities, ready to hand over as temporary accommodation for officials.
The People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with relevant units to review, make a list and agree on a plan to handle the headquarters.
After that, if qualified, the headquarters can be converted into public housing to meet the housing needs of cadres, civil servants, and workers.
