According to the Lao Dong Newspaper reporter's records at the Discovery Complex building (No. 302 Cau Giay Street, Dich Vong Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi), many commercial floors for rent are currently vacant and closed in series.
Discovery Complex's full name is Commercial Center, Offices and High-rise Apartments for Sale and Lease. The building has 5 basements and 8 commercial podiums, but currently, business activities inside Discovery Complex only take place mainly in the basement, which is the Lotte Mart supermarket, and the ground floor includes a number of stalls and cafes.
Although located in a prime location right in the center of Cau Giay district, one of the busiest commercial routes, and directly connected to the elevated Metro station, the commercial base of the building is deserted and desolate to an unbelievable extent.
The 4th and 5th floors of this shopping mall have completely stopped operating, the escalators and elevators have temporarily stopped serving, the hallways have turned off the lights, no shops are open, and there are no people passing by.
On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are a few shops open. Notably, many of the shops used to be rented by big brands, but then they left.
Ms. Thu Hue - an office worker working in this building - said: "Many spaces in this building have been vacant for a long time. Previously, some companies also came here to rent but then they quickly moved out. In addition to the basement and ground floor, there is currently an optical store on the 2nd floor, a company on the 3rd floor, and a restaurant on the 6th floor. The rest is almost vacant."
