"This season the weather is hot and sunny, sitting indoors is like a furnace. There are households that are stuck in planning so they cannot repair or re-roof the corrugated iron roof, and the sun just squeees straight into their house, which is very uncomfortable. Many days, households here have to take chairs to the streets, where there are shade and trees sitting in the wind to avoid suffocation" - Mr. Lam said.
The house is only 50 square meters but has been lived in by about 2-3 generations, Mr. Nguyen Van Than (born in 1968, Khe Can residential area) only has one wish: hoping that the project will be implemented soon, his family can repair the small house.
Living in a dilapidated, cramped house in the middle of summer, Mr. Than described the feeling of the whole family having to spread a mat on the floor to sleep on a brick to avoid the heat. The 3 children are "planned" to sleep separately, sleeping in a crowded attic.
According to Mr. Than, when hearing the city's approval of the renovation and reconstruction policy for the Khe Can area, households like him felt excited, just hoping the project would be implemented on schedule.
According to Lao Dong, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a Decision approving the investment policy of the urban reconstruction project in Khe Can area (Thanh Khe district) with a total investment of more than 135 billion VND.
The project belongs to group C, from the city budget, the implementation period is from 2025-2027.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the investment in the urban reconstruction project in Khe Can area aims to improve the quality of life, upgrade technical and social infrastructure, and aim for sustainable development in the area.
The project focuses on renovating the transportation system, water supply and drainage, lighting and public utilities to meet the needs of local people and urban development.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also decided to invest in traffic connection and drainage treatment in the Khe Can drainage area with a total investment of about 10 billion VND, to solve the immediate flooding problem every time there is heavy rain.
