On August 19, Gia Loc commune, Hai Phong city organized the payment of compensation and site clearance support for Component Project 2: Railway construction investment under the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line investment project for households in Gia Khanh village whose land was recovered for project implementation.
According to the plans approved by Gia Loc Commune People's Committee, phase 1 will implement payments for 103 households and individuals with permanent residence registration in Gia Khanh village. The total recovered land area is more than 12,100 m2, of which more than 9,100 m2 is within the land clearance area and nearly 3,000 m2 is the remaining small-scale land area, difficult to cultivate outside the land clearance area.
The total cost of compensation and support in this phase is more than 8.44 billion VND. The funding is allocated to contents including agricultural land compensation, career change support, production stabilization support, life stabilization support and compensation for trees and crops. In which, career change support accounts for the largest proportion.
Present at the payment session, Mr. Bui Quy Tat (92 years old, Gia Khanh village) said that receiving compensation and support money helps his family be more proactive in stabilizing their lives after land is recovered to implement the project.
This is a large project, serving traffic development. My family receives compensation and support according to the approved plan and hopes the project will be implemented and completed soon" - Mr. Tat shared.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vu Khac Tien - Head of Gia Khanh village said that people in the village basically agreed with the project implementation policy. The payment of compensation and support money is implemented according to the approved plan, contributing to ensuring the rights of households whose land is recovered.
According to Mr. Tien, people want the project to be implemented soon, and the site clearance work to be carried out on schedule. Timely payment helps households feel secure and proactively arrange their lives and production after handing over land.
The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project is an important transport infrastructure project, implemented in western Hai Phong.
In Gia Loc commune, compensation, support, and site clearance are carried out according to the project approved by Hai Phong City People's Committee. The design dossier for planting piles for site clearance in the section passing through the commune has also been approved by the Railway Project Management Board.
Gia Loc commune strives to complete payments to people in areas where land is recovered within the project scope passing through the commune in August 2026.
Organizing the payment of compensation and support immediately after the plans are approved contributes to ensuring the rights of people whose land is recovered, creating consensus in site clearance work, thereby creating conditions for the railway project to be implemented according to the plan in Gia Loc commune.
