With the goal of urban development, Gia Nghia city has established zoning plans and detailed plans to specify general planning projects. However, many detailed planning projects 1/500 have been approved for a long time but are still slow to be implemented.
For example, in Nghia Thanh Ward, Gia Nghia City People's Committee also approved the Detailed Planning Project 1/500 of the Commercial and Service Area in the Gia Nghia Airport area. This planning project is implemented on an area of 44.86 hectares.
To implement the project, the People's Committee of Gia Nghia city issued a notice to reclaim more than 40 hectares of land since June 2010. At the end of 2011, Gia Nghia city issued a decision approving the compensation, support and resettlement plan. Dozens of households in Nghia Thanh ward have had their land reclaimed according to the decisions of the government.
However, the land acquisition was not implemented and the project has been delayed until now. The land recovery is facing difficulties because the Provincial Land Fund Development Center (investor) has not been able to allocate capital to compensate and clear the land.
Regarding this issue, the leader of Gia Nghia City People's Committee said that the prolonged project affects people's land use rights, causing economic damage and frustration for people in the project area.
The city has repeatedly requested the Provincial People's Committee to stop implementing the project and cancel the land recovery decisions, but so far they have not been implemented.
Currently, in Gia Nghia city, there are 5 detailed planning projects that the Department of Construction has pointed out for inadequacy and slow implementation, including: 24ha resettlement area (Nghia Trung ward); Commercial and service area in Gia Nghia Airport area (Nghia Thanh ward); Residential Area No. 4 (Nghia Tan ward); Commercial and service area No. 2 (Nghia Tan ward); Thien Nga Lake Park, Urban Area and Commercial Services (Nghia Thanh ward).
