After Quang Ngai and Kon Tum merged, officials from Kon Tum returned to Quang Ngai to work and stabilized their housing in the newly completed public housing areas.

Urgently completing the official residence

According to the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, from July 1, 2025, Quang Ngai and Kon Tum will merge into a new administrative unit named Quang Ngai province. Hundreds of cadres, civil servants and public employees from Kon Tum were transferred to the provincial center, of which about 150 people were under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

To arrange public housing for officials from Kon Tum to work, Quang Ngai province has repaired and upgraded the Political School dormitory and the Le Khiet High School for the Gifted dormitory. To ensure living conditions, the Provincial Political School coordinated with units to review needs, the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board to basically arrange all public housing at the school's dormitory.

According to the reporter's records, the newly built public housing block at the Provincial Political School and the dormitory of Le Khiet High School for the Gifted are rushing to complete the final items. Currently, dozens of officials from Kon Tum province have also gone to Quang Ngai province to work and have stayed at the official housing block at the Provincial Political School.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Quang Ngai province - said that the unit has just put into use the Quang Ngai Provincial Political School project (phase 2) to ensure the arrangement of public accommodation for cadres in the western part of the province (old Kon Tum province).

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, initially the number of cadres in the western part of the province registered for public housing was quite large, up to 80 people. However, up to now, the list has decreased to about 45 cases. Based on that, the Board of Decision only renovates the existing dormitory block with a scale of 40 rooms and builds a new 3-storey dormitory block with a scale of 9 rooms under the Quang Ngai Provincial Political School project (phase 2) assigned by the Board as the investor.

Cadres feel secure in stabilizing their lives

To quickly arrange accommodation for officers from the old Kon Tum province, reducing the pressure of renting houses, the leaders of Quang Ngai province regularly urge the construction unit to speed up the project implementation progress. Up to now, the public housing has been basically completed, approved by the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Quang Ngai Provincial Police for fire prevention and fighting acceptance; Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction has agreed to accept and ensure conditions for use in accordance with regulations.

Sharing with reporters, an officer currently staying at the provincial Political School dormitory said: "Because I have just received a job in Quang Ngai, finding a place to live near my workplace that is suitable for my financial conditions is not easy. Therefore, I decided to register at the dormitory of the Provincial Political School - located right in the city center, very convenient for daily travel. The newly built dormitory has a very spacious facilities, with a complete basic interior, helping me feel secure in stabilizing my life and focusing on work".

Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Quang Ngai province - said that the two dormitories are fully equipped with necessary equipment such as air conditioners, desks, chairs, televisions, etc. Currently, there are 38 cases that have signed to receive rooms, the rest are due to being busy with work or for other reasons that have not been signed. The investor will continue to arrange rooms in the coming time so that 100% of cadres (under the management of the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee) can have stable long-term accommodation.
