On May 15, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at plots of land No. 277 and 652, map sheet No. 11, in Son Dong commune (Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province), this area is currently just an empty lot, overgrown with grass, with no signs of construction or significant exploitation.
According to the reporter's investigation, the above land has a total area of 12,675.3m2 of Ben Tre General Hospital Joint Stock Company, which won the auction in 2019 to implement the Ben Tre General Hospital project - Facility II.
However, after more than 4 years, this company has no financial capacity and cannot implement the project as committed according to schedule. Therefore, on April 15, 2024, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province issued a decision to reclaim the two plots of land mentioned above and hand them over to the Ben Tre Provincial Land Fund Development Center for management.
Mr. Vinh - a resident of Ben Tre City - shared that the vacant land is overgrown with grass, while the location of the land is right next to National Highway 60, very convenient for the development of public or commercial works.
"Thinking, Ben Tre People's Committee should soon consider calling for other investors to be able to exploit the land, prioritizing projects on community interests such as schools, health facilities, parks or commercial centers.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Doan Van Danh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ben Tre province - said that the People's Committee of Ben Tre province has reclaimed the land and assigned the above land to the Ben Tre Provincial Land Fund Development Center for management to call for investment. Currently, there are a few businesses looking to invest in the above land.
