The Lang Van Tourism and Resort Complex Project in Da Nang, a super project with a total investment of nearly VND44,000 billion, is facing difficulties in the process of site clearance. Mr. Vo Nguyen Chuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang - said that the project site clearance will be completed in April, later than originally expected in early April.
According to Mr. Chuong, the two main problems leading to this delay are the implementation mechanism and land transfer of the people. This is the first time the city has to apply compulsory enforcement and counting measures for such a large -scale project. Normally, coercion is only applied in case the people disagree with the compensation and site clearance plan. The application of compulsory enforcement and counting measures requires thorough preparation of legal and practical, and at the same time need to ensure the legitimate rights of the people affected.
The Lang Van project is expected to become a driving force for Da Nang's economic and social development, contributing to the city's double-digit economic growth target. The project is implemented in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, on an area of nearly 512.2 hectares, with a population of about 19,000 people. The project was approved by the Prime Minister to adjust the investment policy on November 20, 2024.
The goal of the project is to build a complex including commercial and service works, develop eco-tourism combined with low-density accommodation, associated with nature conservation. The project aims to serve the tourism and living needs of local people and domestic and foreign tourists, with a civilized and modern architectural space.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City has approved the land use boundary diagram, adjusting the detailed planning of 1/500 scale for the project. Vinpearl Joint Stock Company was chosen by the People's Committee of Da Nang City to be the project investor on August 27, 2016 and was allocated land and leased land with an area of more than 10 million m2 to implement phase 1 on September 27, 2016. The remaining area of the project has been approved for land use plan, detailed planning of 1/500 scale and approval of investment policies.
