Accordingly, in the period 2026 - 2030, Thai Nguyen is assigned to develop 24,800 social housing units. However, based on the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, Thai Nguyen has adjusted and supplemented the target to 60,000 units by 2030.
Currently, the whole province has reviewed and identified 73 projects and locations of land funds for social housing development with a total area of about 258.81ha.
In which, 54 projects allocate 20% land fund in urban areas with an area of 107.7ha; 19 projects are independent land funds with an area of 151.11ha.
Regarding the implementation plan, so far the whole province has completed 7,691 social housing units. In 2026, the province will focus on implementing projects that have been approved for investment policy, with about 16,191 units.
It is expected that in 2026, Thai Nguyen will complete about 5,661 units.
In the period 2027 - 2030, the locality is expected to continue to approve the investment policy for the remaining 36 projects.
For social housing for the People's Police force, the province has allocated land fund in Residential Area No. 2 Quyet Thang. The Provincial Police is also proposing to study a new location in Dai Phuc commune with an area of about 10.56ha.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Loan requested units to advise, review, and update planning, ensuring the accuracy and feasibility of social housing development plans.
The Department of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with localities to review planning, propose adjustments, supplements, and complete detailed reports for each area.
Focus on developing large-scale social housing areas, creating a key supply source, ensuring the target of 60,000 units by 2030.
