Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, agencies, branches of the province and localities in the project area.
The project has a total length of about 15.9 km, with a total estimated investment of 8. 512 billion VND. The construction time is implemented in 2 years (2026 - 2027).
This is phase 1 of the deployment of the flood control system in the central area of the province.
Phase 2, Thai Nguyen advocates building flood-cutting reservoirs in the northern area of the province and deploying the Ta Cau dyke project.
The works are aimed at ensuring flood prevention and control, flood drainage, combining road construction and effective land exploitation, promoting socio-economic development of the province.
Previously, the Thai Nguyen Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board coordinated with consulting units to organize the preparation and completion of project dossiers. At the same time, it requested the consensus of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment as a basis for implementation.
The construction of the project contributes to improving disaster prevention capacity, protecting the central area of the province, and creating urban development space.
