The picturesque town in Italy offers a reward of 10,000 USD to each new resident who moves here to live.
Just like Sambuca (a town selling houses for 1 Euro in Italy before) and other developing towns, Locana also hopes that the financial rewards will be able to attract new residents here and revive abandoned houses, bars and stores here. Schools in Locana face the risk of shutdowns each year due to too few students.
However, there will be certain requirements for these programs. In Locana, you will not need to renovate your house at a compulsory cost like in Sambuca, you only need to have a child and a minimum salary of 6 thousand Euros, when moving and living in Locana you will receive a bonus of 10,000 USD within 3 years.
This incentive was previously only for Italian residents, but now it is more open to other residents from abroad.
We are looking for young residents and remote workers who are ready to start working here. In Locana, there are dozens of shops, stalls, and restaurants that are closed, waiting for new owners to resume operations, said Mr. Mattiets.
Locana is only 45 kilometers from the capital Turin of Piedmont, located in the center of Gran Paradiso National Park, where you can experience exciting activities such as skiing, mountain climbing, cycling and rich natural scenery and the fresh air of the mountains and forests.
Although these projects are uncertain to bring stable and long-term results, at this time, they are truly becoming popular in policies to revive the domestic rural economy.
