A series of urban area projects worth tens of thousands of billions in Bac Ninh have many new developments in the first days of 2025.

Bac Ninh province is focusing on investing in completing a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, striving to meet the criteria of a Class I urban area by the end of 2025 and becoming a centrally-governed city by the end of 2026.

One of the key tasks set by this locality in 2025 is to implement at least 2 smart, modern, international-class urban area projects.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, in the first days of 2025, large-scale urban area projects in Bac Ninh proposed for investment by Vingroup and Sun Group from the end of 2024 have had new changes.

On February 11, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued a decision approving the progress monitoring table for the implementation of investor selection activities for the Northwest New Urban Area project of Bac Ninh city (zone 1).

This project has a land use scale of about 277 hectares, with a total investment of VND41,270 billion, equivalent to about 1.6 billion USD. The project has been approved for investment by Bac Ninh province since the end of last month, located in Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city.

The investor is allowed to prepare and implement the project for 7 years. The province will conduct a public bidding and select a unit to implement the project in March 2025.

According to the plan, this urban area will have about 60 hectares of land for housing construction, including 38.1 hectares of low-rise housing, 9.5 hectares of social housing, and about 111 hectares of land mixed with housing and service groups. In addition, the project will also have cultural, medical, educational, commercial and service works...

Previously, in the last quarter of last year, Vingroup Corporation also proposed to invest in implementing this urban area project. At that time, the total capital that Vingroup plans to give to the urban area is about 44,500 billion VND.

On February 11, the Standing Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee also agreed on the proposal to approve the investment policy for the Project to invest in the construction of a new urban area, tourism, ecology, culture, resorts, entertainment in Tien Du district (sub-zone 112.1) and the Project to invest in the construction of a new urban area, tourism, ecology, culture, resort, entertainment in Tu Son city (sub-zone 112.3).

Previously, at the end of 2024, the two urban area projects above were proposed by Sun Group to be invested with a total investment of VND 11,091 billion and VND 17,180 billion, respectively.

According to Sun Group's proposal, the above two projects have a 50-year operating period, with an implementation progress from 2025 - 2030.

Up to now, the projects have received full appraisal opinions from the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies in Bac Ninh province.

Bac Ninh is one of the industrial capitals in the North, concentrating a series of FDI giants in the fields of technology equipment manufacturing, electronics, and semiconductors.

In recent years, Bac Ninh has also become the destination of a series of large investors in the real estate sector.

In September 2024, Phu My Hung's member company was also approved by the province to invest in an urban area of VND27,000 billion in Thuan Thanh town.
