The above information was announced by a representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City at a press conference on the afternoon of June 5.
According to Mr. Huynh Thai Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Land Fund Development Center (HCMC Department of Agriculture and Environment), the city has so far completed the approval of the auction plan and decided on the investment policy for the plots of land in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City).
Currently, the authorities are actively implementing the next preparations, the auction is expected to be held in early December 2025.
In fact, if the progress is accelerated, the auction could take place in November. However, to have more extensive and thorough preparation time, the city decided to postpone it to early December. However, this does not affect the total revenue from land that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned to the Department of Agriculture and Environment" - Mr. Ngoc affirmed.
Previously, at the end of February 2025, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the city would auction backpacks of land 1-2, 1-3 and 3-5 in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in the second quarter of 2025, with a total starting price of more than 5,000 billion VND.

Also at the press conference, Mr. Huynh Thai Ngoc informed more about the auction plan of 3,790 apartments in lots R1 to R5, in An Khanh ward, Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
According to Mr. Ngoc, at the end of May 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee officially authorized the Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize the auction of a large number of these apartments.
Currently, the Department is closely coordinating with relevant departments and branches to develop a feasible and effective auction plan, suitable for the market situation.
Notably, the above apartments were previously subject to resettlement housing.
However, after the city proposed, the Central agencies agreed in principle to convert the function from resettlement housing to commercial housing, opening a new direction for housing funds in the Thu Thiem area.
