An Khanh Ward (HCMC) is currently organizing to collect opinions on the partial adjustment of the 1/2000 scale zoning plan. Sub-zone No. 1 belongs to Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
According to the draft, there are 9 land plots for the construction of the Vietnam International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City, coded from 1. K1. 2. HH to 1. K1. 10. HH, proposed to adjust to increase the maximum floor height.
The most notable is land plot 1. K1. 8. HH with an area of about 1.26 ha. This plot is proposed to increase the building height from a maximum of 30 floors to 99 floors, and the height from 120 m to 500 m.

Currently, Thu Thiem New Urban Area already has the Empire City project with the 88-story Empire 88 Tower. However, if the new plan is approved, the 99-story financial tower will surpass this project in height and become the most prominent highlight in the area.

Vietnam International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) has a scale of about 898 hectares, including a part of Ben Thanh, Saigon wards and Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
On February 21, the Vietnam International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City officially launched at the Vietnam International Finance Center Building, No. 8 Nguyen Hue, Saigon Ward.
Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also issued a decision approving the partial adjustment of the General Plan of Thu Duc city until 2040 in Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
In which, the city requests to rebalance the fund of green land for public use, sports and public service land in order to supplement, link and increase support functions for the International Financial Center.
