The workshop was attended by many researchers, architects, experts in the fields of planning, architecture, criticism theory, heritage conservation, architect training... from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities across the country.
With 23 in-depth presentations on planning - architecture - urban and rural work over the past half century, the Workshop presented a general, objective but in-depth view of the country's achievements in developing architectural planning, as well as pointing out the remaining limitations of architectural development.
Speaking about Vietnamese architecture over the past 50 years, Professor- doctor-grant, Architect Nguyen Quoc Thong, Chairman of the Architecture Council, Vietnam Association of Architects, said that over the past 50 years, Vietnamese architecture has achieved many achievements and strongly integrated despite its limited existence.
In development trends, tropical architecture and green architecture are considered suitable, both inheriting tradition and meeting modern requirements. The construction of landscape and urban space needs to have a clear orientation from modern Vietnamese architecture.
Over the past 50 years, the urban architectural appearance of our country is increasingly spacious, modern and identity. The process of urbanization and urban development has created an important motivation for the development economy and improving the lives of the people. Urban and rural architecture in the direction of civilization and modernity has brought people a sustainable, environmentally friendly place, to humans. The architects have continuously worked and created hundreds of thousands of architectural works of economic and aesthetic value, enriched the treasure of national architecture and the arts and arts of the country.

Dr. Nguyen Truong Luu, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects, added that it is common to mention "architectural heritage" which is all French-era architecture. However, since 1954-2015, there have been many outstanding architectural works created by the Vietnamese people, in accordance with the culture, climate, and environment of Vietnam, creating an architectural mark.
After 1975, there are some typical works such as: the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Voice of Vietnam, Hoa Binh Theater, the work at 92 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hanoi Station... In recent years, many beautiful works have also been honored.
Architect Ngo Viet Nam Son predicts that in the next 50 years, Vietnamese architecture will develop in the direction of digitalization, integration of AI and enhancing cross-sectoral cooperation in design and training. He emphasized the need for sustainable planning thinking, linking community benefits with investors; promoting local identity in the context of globalization. Architecture does not only need to be beautiful, but needs to be humane, environmentally friendly and have cultural and social depth.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Architects organized 50 typical architectural works in the southern provinces and cities based on the nominations of local architects associations. Within the framework of the workshop, these works participated in the exhibition and was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Architects Association of typical architectural works in the southern provinces - 50 years of the country.
