On June 4, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province said that the investor is coordinating with localities to promote propaganda on compensation and site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, the section passing through Binh Duong.
Notably, 5 households in localities have recently agreed to hand over the land to implement the expressway, although they have not received compensation.
5 households include: Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoat's household (Hamlet 1, Tan Long commune, Phu Giao district), expected to reclaim 2,108 m2; Mr. Nguyen Tho Quang's household (Hamlet 2, Tan Hung commune, Bau Bang district) expected to reclaim 5,387 m2; Mr. Nguyen Van Nam's household (Hamlet 1, Tan Hung commune, Bau Bang district) expected to reclaim 3,620 m2; Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung's household (Thu Dau Mot city) expected to reclaim 1,227 m2, and Ms. Le's household (Thuan An city) expected to reclaim 4,378 m2.
Authorities and local authorities have visited, encouraged and commended the above households.
It is known that component project 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway site clearance needs to reclaim 322 hectares of land from 1,651 households, individuals and organizations affected.
To date, localities have notified land acquisition in 1,369 cases, measured about 1,626 cases, counted about 1,116 cases, expected to be completed in June 2025. The total area of 35.8 hectares of land handed over (reaching a rate of 11.1%).
According to records, the site handover rate is still low. Binh Duong province is stepping up the completion of procedures for compensation and resettlement for people. At the same time, promote propaganda work to create consensus among the people to jointly implement the expressway for socio-economic development.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, the section passing through Binh Duong province, has a total length of about 52 km. The expressway is planned to have a scale of 6 expressway lanes, with a design speed of 100 km/h.
Component project 1 of site clearance has a total investment of about VND 8,283 billion. The capital source for compensation clearance is from the central budget and local budgets. This project has been implemented by localities in Binh Duong since 2024.
Component project 2 of the expressway construction investment is implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) investment method, construction - business - transfer contract (BOT). The total investment of component project 2 is about VND 8,883 billion, the project implementation period is from 2024 to 2027. The project has started construction in early 2025, and is starting construction.
