Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal said that the province is speeding up the progress of land acquisition to clear land for two major projects, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4.
Component project 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway site clearance has a total investment of more than VND 8,283 billion. The land acquisition area is 322 hectares with 1,651 households, individuals and organizations affected. It is expected that 194 cases will be resettled.
To date, the locality has announced land reclamation in 1,369 cases, measured about 1,626 cases, counted about 1,116 cases, expected to be completed in June 2025.
3 out of 4 localities have had compensation prices and have approved compensation and resettlement support plans. The total area of land handed over is 35.8 hectares (reaching a rate of 11.1%).
Component project 1 of site clearance for Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 has an investment capital of VND 7,926 billion. The reclaimed area is 239.8 hectares, with 1,451 affected cases and about 300 cases subject to resettlement.

According to records, there are many reasons for the slow site clearance, notably due to problems with compensation prices that are quite high in border areas. In addition, the locality has not found suitable land for resettlement for people.
The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to localities and units report on plans to speed up the site clearance progress of the above projects.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - directed localities to promote propaganda work to make people see the real and great benefits that projects bring to the development of the province and improve the quality of life of the people. Thereby, creating consensus and support from the people.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh suggested that the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and the Committees must finalize a plan for the time to complete the measurement and counting of each project. At the same time, units must urgently develop unit prices, compensation plans and approve plans to implement compensation on schedule. Require that by June 15, 2025, compensation capital for site clearance must be allocated to compensation payment units to conduct compensation according to schedule.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also proposed to promote propaganda work and create strong dissemination, commend and reward typical households that have not yet received compensation but still hand over the site, for the common benefit of the province.
5 households agreed to hand over the land even though they have not yet received compensation.
In Phu Giao district, there are currently 5 households that have not received compensation for the project but have agreed to hand over the site. Households are implementing tree cutting and property relocation to hand over the project construction site with an area of 1.7 hectares.
