On September 19, the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City is handling the complaint of Ms. Vo Thu Thao (born in 1992, formerly from Kien Giang, temporarily residing in Ho Chi Minh City) about someone else mistakenly building a house on her family's land.
On the same day, officers of Chanh Hiep ward went to the scene to record the actual situation and contacted relevant officials to verify.
Ms. Vo Thu Thao said that she had received information about the work schedule next week from the People's Committee of the ward and her family who had mistakenly built a house on her land.

According to actual records, the plot of land was reported to have been built with the wrong house at the end of DX06 road, near My Phuoc Tan Van road in Chanh Hiep ward. The land plot that Ms. Thao's family bought had an area of about 71 m2, previously vacant land, now a solid house with 1 ground floor and 1 upper floor. The neighbor's land was surrounded by a fence, with a roofed yard inside.
"I think this is an unexpected mistake, so I'm patient with the neighbor's family for time to resolve it. However, 3 months have passed, so I had to submit an application to the ward for intervention. I only carry out legal procedures to protect my family's rights and have not had any words or actions affecting my neighbor's family" - Ms. Thao shared.
Ms. Thao's wish is to request the family of the person who built the house to urgently relocate the house and return the land to her family.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that in 2024, Ms. Thao and her husband bought the above plot of land. Because she did not have money to build a house, she left it empty. In mid-June 2025, Ms. Thao asked a construction unit to survey and measure to build a house and was shocked to discover that someone had built a house on her land. Through contact, it was determined that the neighbor had built the house by mistake on his land. Ms. Thao contacted the neighbor's family to negotiate a solution but failed.
Faced with the above situation, Ms. Thao has sent a document requesting the family of the person who built the house to urgently relocate the house. At the same time, Ms. Thao also sent a petition to the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward, requesting the ward to remind and urge the relocation of the house to be carried out, ensuring the legitimate rights of the family.
Talking to reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward said that he had assigned a professional unit to handle the incident.
