On the morning of October 3, Lionel Messi scored 2 goals in Inter Miami's 3-2 victory over Columbus crew in the 2024 MLS. With 3 more points, Inter Miami officially won the MLS Supporters Shield.
This is Messi's second trophy for Inter Miami and with his entry into the MLS play-off round and a place in the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025, he can compete to increase the number of titles in his career.
Up to this point, after 20 years of professional competition, Messi has a total of 46 championships - the most in the world, with an average of 2.3 titles per year.
With most of his career playing for Barcelona, it is not surprising that Messi has won the most titles for the Catalan team.
Accordingly, he has won the Champions League 4 times, 10 times in La Liga, won 3 FIFA Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 8 Spanish Super Cups and 7 Spanish King's Cups.
Saying goodbye to Barcelona after many years of association, the Argentine superstar moved to Paris St Germain as a free player. Although life in Paris was not very comfortable, in 2 seasons at PSG, Messi added 3 more titles, with 2 Ligue 1 and 1 French Super Cup.
It was a pity for Messi that despite coming to France to play alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, he could not conquer the Champions League front. And so, the victory over Barca in 2015 was also the last time M10 won the top club championship in Europe.
In the summer of 2023, Messi traveled across the ocean to the US, joined Inter Miami and soon won the next title in the Leagues Cup. The latest was the MLS Supporters Shield as mentioned above.
In the Argentina national team, Messi debuted in 2005 but unlike the club level, titles have warded him off for many years. There was a period when it seemed that disappointment made Messi decide to retire, but he continued and success began to come from 2021.
Messi and Argentina won Copa America 2021, 2024, won the Finalissima Cup 2022 and especially the World Cup in 2022.
Messi's remaining two titles were in 2005, when he won the U20 World Cup and in 2008, when he won the Beijing Olympic gold medal with the U23 team.
