In the early morning of February 26 (Vietnam time), Chelsea hosted bottom-placed Southampton in round 27 of the Premier League. Southampton are in poor form and are all but sure to be relegated.
With superior strength, The Blues created many opportunities and opened the scoring in the 24th minute after Christopher Nkunku headed the ball close to the goal. The Frenchman then assisted Pedro Neto to make it 2-0 in the 36th minute.
At the end of the first half, from Neto's direct free kick, Levi Colwill headed the ball dangerously to help Chelsea enter the break with a 3-goal advantage.

The second half continued to witness the home team's overwhelming performance. In the 78th minute, young player George crossed for Marc Cucurella to score to seal the 4-0 victory.
This result helped coach Enzo Maresca and his team temporarily overcome Bournemouth, Newcastle and Man City to take 4th place, before the other teams completed round 27. This is also the first victory after 4 matches in all competitions. Southampton are still at the bottom of the table with only 9 points after 27 matches.
