In round 26 of the Premier League, Arsenal lost 0-1 to West Ham. The disappointing match left them 8 points behind Liverpool in the rankings. This brings back bad memories for the "Gunners" fans, who have finished second in two consecutive Premier League seasons before.
Reacting to Arsenal's defeat to West Ham, former player Michael Owen told Premier League Productions: "Arsenal are aiming for the title while Liverpool have been in decline in the past few weeks.
I know there are many problems but Arsenal welcome West Ham at home and have a good squad there. Everyone thought they would find a way, but in the end, the West Ham goalkeeper didn't have to do much."
Currently, the Premier League has only 12 rounds left. Owen spoke about the gap Liverpool created, but Arsenal were not out of chances: Liverpool played very well this season, no one can deny that they deserved to top. But now we look at the race and wonder what else Arsenal will do?
After 26 rounds, Liverpool only need 29 more points to secure the championship, but there is no guarantee. Now, Arsenal need to be unbeaten until the end of the season, if they still want to hope to create a miracle".
In the next 12 matches, Arsenal went through a rather tense schedule. The biggest opponents they have to overcome include Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United and even the Horses of Nottingham Forest (the team holding the top 3). Meanwhile, Liverpool have to face big opponents Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.
