Manager David Moyes is expected to sign a two-year contract with Everton. Terms have been agreed and the club is expected to announce the arrival of the 61-year-old within the next 24 hours.
Everton's owners have identified David Moyes as their top target to replace Sean Dyche, who was sacked on January 9. The Scottish manager's return is expected to be a turning point for the club, which is struggling to avoid relegation this season.
Everton are currently 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone. In their last 19 matches, The Toffees have won just three.
Coach David Moyes had 518 matches leading the Merseyside team from 2002 - 2013. During this period, he helped Everton maintain stability and often stay in the middle of the Premier League rankings. In the 2004-2005 season, Everton finished in 4th place, above rivals Liverpool and won a ticket to the Champions League next season. David Moyes also led Everton to the 2009 FA Cup final but lost to Chelsea.
After leaving Everton, coach David Moyes also went through many different teams. He was not very successful at teams such as Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland. When leading West Ham United, he helped the team win the Conference League championship but was fired by the "Hammers" later.
