Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly accepted an offer to leave Old Trafford from Juventus - just months after joining the club. Meanwhile, new Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is said to have no faith in the Dutchman.
The 23-year-old joined United from Bologna for around £37m this summer, but has scored just once in 16 appearances and there have been doubts over his suitability for the club.
Zirkzee's playing time has been reduced in recent games under caretaker manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has used him as a substitute, with his last Premier League start coming in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham in September.
Despite having only signed a five-year contract, Zirkzee could still leave Old Trafford. According to Calciomercato, Juventus are considering recruiting this player in January.
The move to Turin will reunite Zirkzee with Thiago Motta, who was his coach at Bologna last season. The Italian tactician previously helped Zirkzee develop his impressive ability, scoring 12 goals in 37 appearances.
The report says Motta is looking for a back-up option for Dusan Vlahovic, with Arkadiusz Milik's future still uncertain and Nico Gonzalez injury-prone.
The newspaper also previously confirmed that Amorim did not have complete confidence in Zirkzee. There was also information that Erik ten Hag did not want to sign him either. However, Man United were only willing to loan Zirkzee because they had spent a large sum of money and still considered him a future star.
Amorim are said to be drawing up a list of targets for the January transfer window, including Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres, who has taken Europe by storm after scoring 23 goals in 18 games this season.
Juventus have said they would be happy to sign Zirkzee on loan, but could ask for a permanent option next summer. Talks over a new contract for Vlahovic have so far failed.
Zirkzee began his career at Bayern Munich before playing on loan for Parma and Anderlecht, before joining Bologna in 2022. He scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Serie A side in two seasons before joining Old Trafford.
Zirkzee had a promising start when he scored the decisive goal to help the "Red Devils" defeat Fulham in his Premier League debut. However, he did not score any more goals and only had 1 assist in the tournament.
