On November 18, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1417/QD-TTg on disciplinary action against Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province.
Decision No. 1417/QD-TTg on disciplining Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province for the 2021-2026 term - in the form of a Warning due to violations and shortcomings in his work and having been subject to Party discipline.
The disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1741-QD/UBKTTW dated September 24, 2024 of the Central Inspection Commission.
The decision takes effect from November 16, 2024.
Previously, the Central Inspection Commission held its 47th meeting to consider disciplining organizations and individuals. At this meeting, the Central Inspection Commission reviewed and concluded that the Standing Committee of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations.
At the same time, there was a lack of responsibility and lax leadership and direction, allowing the Provincial People's Committee and many organizations and individuals to seriously violate Party regulations and State laws in organizing the implementation of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (package 04 implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company).
Some officials and party members, including key officials of the province, violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
The above violations have caused serious consequences, risking loss and waste of large amounts of State money and assets, causing bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of requiring disciplinary action.
Personal responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province.
Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to impose a disciplinary warning on Mr. Nguyen Van Son.
