Siamsport reported that after the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) sued Somyot Pumpanmuang and the previous executive board, the relationship between Madam Pang and the former president is no longer the same. The billionaire even refused an invitation to attend the wedding of a son of Somyot Pumpanmuang.
Madam Pang said: "He may be very disappointed, because there is a good personal relationship between me and Mr. Somyot Pumpanmuang. I have accepted his child's wedding invitation, but will not attend to avoid misunderstandings and bad public opinion at this time.
I think Mr. Somyot will understand my reason. The lawsuit is not a personal matter but my responsibility and role as President of the Football Association of Thailand".
Previously, Madam Pang decided to sue Somyot Pumpanmuang and 19 colleagues during FAT's previous term. According to the businesswoman, she pursued a lawsuit to demand fairness, the proceeds will be used to pay off debts to Siam Sport and support the Thai teams.
Despite the debt pressure, Madam Pang is determined to continue to hold the position of Chairman of FAT, prioritizing focusing on resolving the backlog during his term. She also expressed that in the coming time, the FAT team will find a way to work with partners to postpone or reduce the amount of losses.
Through exchanges with the press and media, the President of the Football Association of Thailand proposed to establish a special campaign to raise money for FAT to overcome financial difficulties.
Accordingly, FAT will sell the Thai team jersey, sell T-shirts, and receive donations from fans. At the same time, cooperate in organizing music events, stage plays, and football friendlies.
