Manchester United travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa in what could be Erik ten Hag's final game as Red Devils manager.
With just three wins in their opening 10 games of the season and no win in their last four, United are in freefall. They also needed a 91st-minute equaliser from Harry Maguire to avoid another humiliating defeat to Porto in the Europa League.
Man United led 2-0 in the first 20 minutes, but were beaten 2-3 early in the second half. They were then reduced to 10 men on the pitch after captain Bruno Fernandes received his second red card in five days.
Fernandes will therefore be suspended for United's next Europa League game but not the Premier League. The Portuguese midfielder's red card in the embarrassing 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham has been rescinded.
Fernandes is expected to start against Villa, but Marcus Rashford's place in the squad remains uncertain. In a move that drew a furious response from fans, Ten Hag took Rashford off at half-time against Porto. The England striker had scored the opener and assisted Rasmus Hojlund's goal.
After the match, Ten Hag said he wanted Rashford to rest and give a chance to Alejandro Garnacho, who had a good performance in the second half. Therefore, it is likely that Rashford and Garnacho will start in Man United's attack in the match against Villa, while Amad will be on the bench.
Ten Hag could also freshen up the midfield, with Kobbie Mainoo and new signing Manuel Ugarte starting together. Centre-back is also a position to consider after Matthijs De Ligt's forgettable performance against Porto. Meanwhile, Maguire came off the bench to save the Red Devils from defeat.
Ten Hag's future is sure to be the subject of much discussion ahead of the trip to Villa Park. On Tuesday (local time), the Man United board will meet in London, including the issue of Ten Hag's future.
"I like Erik ten Hag. He is a very good coach but at the end of the day it is not my decision but the decision of the management team at Man United.
The new board was formed in July. They have not been there since the beginning of the year. Both CEO Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth only arrived in July. They have not been there long so they need time to evaluate and make reasonable decisions, the best for the club" - Sir Jim Ratcliffe replied when asked about Ten Hag's future.
The match between Aston Villa and Man United takes place at 20:00 on October 6 (Vietnam time).
