Bryan Mbeumo has officially announced that he has only one option if he leaves Brentford this summer, which is to join Manchester United.
Previously, Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham all expressed interest, but Mbeumo only agreed personal terms with Man United. The remaining issue lies in the process of negotiating transfer fees between the two teams.
International media said that Man United's first proposal in early June included 62 million USD in spot payments and 14 million USD depending on Mbeumo's future achievements. However, Brentford refused.
Shortly after that, the Old Trafford team raised the price to 75 million USD to pay according to schedule and an additional 10 million bonus, but it was still not approved by Brentford.
Although Man United's second suggested total value is up to 85 million USD - exactly the valuation Brentford wants, this team requires most of the money to be paid immediately, and is not satisfied with the additional terms in the contract.
Mbeumo joined Brentford from Troyes (France) in 2019 for 8 million USD - a record for the club at that time. He was a key factor in helping the team get promoted to the Premier League in the 2020-2021 season. After 3 seasons scoring less than 10 goals per season, the 25-year-old striker has exploded with 20 goals last season, an achievement that a Man United player has not achieved in the Premier League since Robin van Persie in 2012-2013.
Meanwhile, Brentford are in the transfer phase. They have parted ways with coach Thomas Frank and appointed permanent expert Keith Andrews as captain.
