Viktor Gyokeres was the focus of the most chaotic transfer deal of the summer 2025. The Swedish striker wants to leave Sporting Lisbon, after scoring 54 goals in 52 matches last season.
Gyokeres wants to try his hand at one of the biggest tournaments in Europe, but has yet to find a new club. Sporting insists they have not yet received any offers, while club president Frederico Varandas accused Gyokeres' agent of making false statements.
The information that they will accept the amount of £59 million to sell the Swedish player is completely wrong.
Teams that are looking to sign Gyokeres believe Sporting are demanding too much money, with a total fee of £86 million. The 27-year-old has scored 97 goals in 102 matches since moving to Portugal two years ago.

Therefore, there was a big disagreement between the two sides and it was announced that Gyokeres would not return for the pre-season. But Gyokeres did not receive the attention he had hoped for.
The 27-year-old striker turned down an offer to move to Saudi Arabia last month. Al-Hilal made a £55 million offer but was rejected by Sporting. Gyokeres also has no intention of moving to the Middle East, wanting to continue competing in Europe.
Real Madrid do not want to spend much money to bring Gyokeres to the Bernabeu, because they are looking for a No. 9 player in the form of Joselu before. Liverpool have been linked with the player in recent days, but the Premier League champions are not interested in the Swedish player.
Juventus have also been linked with the money, but the Serie A side have not had much money and have yet made any official offers. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich with Harry Kane and Paris St-Germain are not very interested.
That has left Arsenal and Man United in focus, and the belief that Gyokeres' number one option is to move to the Emirates. The Gunners could bring a place in the Champions League and the possibility of competing for the title next season.
But while new sporting director Andrea Berta is interested in Gyokeres, Arsenal's favorite number 9 choice is RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko. A £60 million deal, at the moment, is most likely to happen to Arsenal and the Leipzig striker.
Therefore, Gyokeres realized that his best option this summer could be to reunite with Ruben Amorim. The intermediaries have contacted the player on his behalf to signal that he is ready to join Old Trafford.
However, Gyokeres may also have to wait for Man United. Matheus Cunha has passed through the door at Old Trafford and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to be the next one. Therefore, the "Red Devils" have to sell players before they can spend again.

Man United are willing to sell any player in the squad if paid the right amount, but they especially want to quickly eliminate Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. They also hope that Real Betis will soon make an acceptable offer to Antony.
After that, Man United will return to the striker target. And Gyokeres is finally ready to become the "Red Devils".
