Overview
Ipswich Town are still trying their best to stay in the Premier League but things are very difficult for Kieran McKenna's team.
In the last 6 rounds, Ipswich have lost 4 and drawn 2. That poor run of form has seen them drop to 18th in the table.
If they do not improve their position soon, the risk of returning to the Championship after only 1 year is very clear for Ipswich.
Ipswich's problem lies in the quality of personnel. Up front, McKenna can only rely on the independent fighting ability of Liam Delap and Giraud Hutchinson. While in defense, McKenna did not have good enough blocks.
Ipswich have the 4th worst defence in the Premier League (50 goals conceded) and also have the second worst attack in the league (23 goals).
However, Ipswich have a very good relationship with London sides. Two of Ipswich's three wins since the start of the season have come against London sides Tottenham and Chelsea.
In addition, they have held Fulham to a draw twice and have only lost narrowly to Arsenal, Crystal Palace and West Ham. Therefore, Ipswich have reason to hope when hosting Tottenham in the next match.
For Tottenham, the victory over Man United was their second consecutive victory after a streak of 7 matches with only draws and losses in the Premier League. However, Tottenham's most obvious problem this season is their ability to penetrate deep-lying defenses.
The 2-1 win in London earlier this season has seen Ipswich claim four straight wins against Spurs, a 24-year run. The last time Tottenham tasteed a victory in this match was in August 2000.
Personnel situation
Axel Tuanzebe is suspended for Ipswich after his red card against Villa last weekend. Junction Enciso has also been injured since the start of the match and will likely be absent alongside Conor Chaplin, Sam Morsy, Cheidozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics, Wes Burns, Christian Walton and Leif Davis.
On the other side of the front line, Tottenham's injury crisis is easing but they will still be without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.
Expected lineup:
Ipswich Town: Palmer, Townsend, Greaves, O'Shea, Wolfenden, Phillips, Clarke, Cajuste, Johnson, Hutchinson, Delap.
Tottenham: Vicario, Spence, Danso, Davies, Porro, Sar, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Maddison, Son Heung-min, Tel.
The match between Ipswich Town and Tottenham takes place at 22:00 on February 22 (Vietnam time).
