At the FIFA Club World Cup 2025TM taking place on the East Coast of the US, many teams, especially those from Europe, have struggled with the hot weather. According to US media, forecasts show that weather conditions will worsen significantly in the next few days.
The fact that matches are scheduled before the sunset in the US to air during more favorable TV hours in Europe and other parts of the world will face many conflicting opinions.
Currently, there are five group stage matches scheduled with the highest forecast temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius. The particular concern is the outdoor stadium matches without temperature-controlled roofs, including Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Rose Bowl in Los Angeles and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Many coaches and players have complained about the heat when playing on the field.
Atletico midfielder Marcos Llorente told reporters: "It was unbearable, the weather was so hot. My toes hurt, my nails hurt, but I couldn't stop... It was unbelievable."
PSG coach Luis Enrique said: "We have to try to get through the hot weather because this is the best time for European countries to watch, but it is difficult to play in that condition."
The teams were given a break to drink water for a few minutes in each round, but adapting and getting back into the rhythm afterwards was not easy.
Al Ahly coach Jose Riveiro expressed his opinion: "You have to understand that most teams, including us, have gone through very long seasons, the energy level is not at its best, so a few minutes off won't help."
