Harry Maguire's future at Manchester United is still uncertain as the England centre-back enters the final year of his contract. So far, no official offers have been made to the 32-year-old.
Man United have activated a 12-month extension clause in the six-year, £190,000-a-week deal Maguire signed when he moved to Old Trafford from Leicester City in 2019. If they want to keep the English centre-back for a long time, the team will need to issue a new contract with updated terms.
Maguire was the "Red Devils" best player in the win over Liverpool. The English centre-back headed the ball to Anfield - ending nearly a decade of waiting for a win against Liverpool. Despite having gone through many ups and downs in the Man United shirt, Maguire is still an important factor in the club's squad.

"This victory is very meaningful. If someone says it is just 3 points after all, it will be an empty comment. It's certainly not just that.
This result is much more meaningful for the players, for the club, for the fans. It's true that this victory has only brought home 3 points like every other win, but coming here and doing that against a top team in recent years like Liverpool is really great" - Maguire shared.
Since Maguire has entered the eighth month of his current contract, he has the right to negotiate and sign a preliminary contract with foreign clubs from January 1, 2026. According to British media, meetings between Man United representatives and Maguire are still regular, but the team's leadership has not yet made a final decision.
So far, no formal negotiations have been opened and no specific offers have been sent to the England centre-back. Whether Maguire accepts a salary reduction will depend on the duration of the new contract offered by the club.
Maguire's impressive performance at Anfield was not the first time he shined in the final minutes of the match. The England centre-back had previously scored in stoppage time to help Man United beat Lyon in the Europa League last season.
"I am at the end of my career, so this could be the last time I play at Anfield for Man United. Being on the pitch and marking that milestone really means a lot to me," the 32-year-old added.

Maguire was once rumored to be joining West Ham during the time that coach Erik ten Hag - who took over his captaincy - was still in charge. In the summer transfer window, Man United rejected a number of offers from domestic and foreign clubs for the centre-back. Currently, keeping the English players is still a top priority for the Old Trafford team.
Maguire is one of four players over 21 who are "domestic" in the Man United squad. In the near future, veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton is likely to leave the team at the end of the season. Since Premier League clubs are only allowed to register up to 17 non-domestic players, keeping the English stars becomes even more important for Man United.
