On the afternoon of November 15, the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) met to discuss and impose penalties on two players who fought after the match between Ho Chi Minh City Youth and PVF-CAND at Thong Nhat Stadium on the evening of November 14.
The VFF Disciplinary Board decided: "According to Clause 1, Article 39 of the Disciplinary Regulations, player Nguyen Xuan Nam will be fined 20 million VND and suspended from the next 4 matches. Player Vu Van Son will be fined 20 million VND and suspended from the next 4 matches."
In addition, two other members of the PVF-CAND team, Head of Delegation Mai Trung Hai and Communications Officer Nguyen Thi Thu Nga, also received penalties. Accordingly, Mr. Hai was fined 10 million VND and suspended from duty for the next 3 matches. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nga was fined 5 million VND and suspended from duty for 2 matches. These are the two members who had insulted and insulted the referee.
As Lao Dong reported, on the evening of November 14, after the match between Ho Chi Minh City Youth and PVF-CAND in the 2024-2025 National First Division, two players Nguyen Xuan Nam (PVF-CAND) and Vu Van Son (Ho Chi Minh City Youth) got into a fight.
According to the surveillance camera in the Thong Nhat Stadium tunnel, striker Xuan Nam took the initiative to meet, provoke and hit Van Son with his shoe first. After that, the two sides continued to fight, forcing the security forces to work hard to stop it. As a result, Xuan Nam suffered from bleeding from the nose and mouth.
The tournament organizer, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company, also determined that Xuan Nam was the one who initiated the attack.
