Five successful years of Vietnamese national teams
Exactly 1 year since the Vietnamese team won the ASEAN Cup, Vietnamese football has also gone through a favorable journey on many fronts at a series of different levels.
For the first time in history, Vietnamese football has up to 7 different teams qualified for the Asian finals in 2026. It is even more wonderful when coach Kim Sang-sik's U23 Vietnam started smoothly at the AFC U23 Championship. Two victories against U23 Jordan and U23 Kyrgyzstan helped the "Golden Star Warriors" open up opportunities for the quarter-finals.

If they advance, U23 Vietnam will reach the quarter-finals for the 3rd consecutive time, also the 4th time in 6 times participating in the AFC U23 Championship finals in history. These statistics affirm the leading position on the continent that Vietnam has.
In fact, U23 Vietnam is not only aiming for the quarter-finals. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his colleagues have prepared a long-term roadmap, hoping to reach the final of the tournament for the 2nd time in history. Building a 1-year training plan, regular training at home and abroad helps U23 Vietnam improve physical fitness, quality force and diversity in competition strategy.
Of course, to realize the milestone set by Mr. Park Hang-seo 8 years ago, U23 Vietnam at this time needs both luck and luck to go hand in hand. However, looking at the way the team won against U23 Jordan and U23 Kyrgyzstan, fans have the right to believe in the promising journey of U23 Vietnam.

Before participating in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals, U23 Vietnam participated in a series of friendly tournaments with diverse scales and levels. Notably, the team won the U23 Southeast Asian Championship and the SEA Games 33 gold medal.
This double title aims to affirm the coaching ability of coach Kim Sang-sik. This is the foundation for Thanh Nhan, Dinh Bac, Xuan Bac... to confidently reach the AFC U23 Championship.
In addition to the U23 team and the national team, 2025 is also a success lever for many teams. Coach Mai Duc Chung and the Vietnamese women's team will participate in the 2026 Asian Cup finals in Australia. This is an opportunity for Bich Thuy and her teammates to aim for a ticket to the 2027 World Cup.
There is a bit of regret when the Vietnamese women's team only won a silver medal at SEA Games 33. Anyway, looking at the force transfer process, the national women's team promises to participate in the world arena just like they did 3 years ago.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's futsal team also reached a historic milestone when winning a gold medal for the first time when participating in the SEA Games. This is the result of the persistent and steady efforts of Thuy Trang and her teammates at the memorable Games.
Closing 2025, Vietnamese national teams continue to compete in the Asian front. In addition to the U23 men's team and the women's team, the U17 men's, U17 women's, and U20 women's teams also see the Asian finals as opportunities to aim for the world arena.
For Vietnam U20 women's team, the team's roadmap is to try to reach the semi-finals to get tickets to the U20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Vietnam U17 men's and U17 women's teams are wide open to participate in the world arena if they pass the group stage.
