In the afternoon of January 10, the Ministry of Public Security organized a conference to collect opinions from voters in their workplaces for people who are expected to be introduced to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To - Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that after the first consultation conference on the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term on December 4, 2025 of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ministry of Public Security was assigned to introduce three people to run for National Assembly deputies of the XVI term.
According to the allocation, the Ministry of Public Security has a structure of full-time National Assembly deputies arranged at the National Assembly's Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs. Thus, the total number of deputies of the Ministry of Public Security allocated to introduce candidates for National Assembly deputies of the XVI term is four people.
Based on the allocation of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the guidance of central agencies, the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the conference of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security introducing candidates for National Assembly deputies of the XVI term, 100% of delegates agreed to introduce the list of four people participating in the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term to be put forward for comments at this conference, including:
General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Pham Cong Nguyen, Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Administrative and Judicial Reform; Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the People's Security Academy - structure of National Assembly deputies working full-time at the National Assembly's Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.
At the conference, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To also approved the standards of National Assembly deputies and cases where they are not eligible to run for National Assembly deputies as stipulated in the Law on Organization of the National Assembly.
Major General Pham Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Secretary of the Conference, approved the biography summary of the four people introduced to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
On behalf of those trusted to be introduced to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung sincerely thanked the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and representatives of voters of the Ministry agency for trusting and introducing them to participate in the election of National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
On the same day, the Ministry of Public Security also held an expanded leadership conference to introduce candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
At the conference, delegates expressed high approval and confidence with a rate of 100% of delegates present unanimously agreeing on the list of four people from the Ministry of Public Security to introduce candidates for the 16th National Assembly, including:

After this conference, the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security agreed to assign the Department of Organization and Personnel to coordinate with relevant organizations and individuals to urgently complete dossiers and procedures to ensure the submission of dossiers of candidate personnel on time as prescribed.
