Nam Dinh Club has just sent an official dispatch to VFF and VPF with the desire to increase the number of foreign players who can play on the field in each match.

In the 2025-2026 season, Hanoi Police and Nam Dinh clubs are the two representatives of Vietnam participating in the continental arena. Therefore, they have registered more foreign players than other teams.

Before the AFC Champions League Two draw, the team from Thanh Nam has just sent an important document to VFF.

According to Official Dispatch No. 31/CV-BDTXND-2025, Nam Dinh Football Club expressed its request that tournament organizers can increase the use of foreign players on the field in each match.

After studying the contents of the draft Charter, we respectfully suggest that the Vietnam Football Federation and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company consider allowing the maximum use of 04 foreign players to compete on the field at the same time of the match to optimize player resources and avoid waste; at the same time, improve the quality and increase the appeal of the match, Nam Dinh team proposed.

According to the initial plan from VFF and VPF, teams are allowed to register a maximum of 4 foreign players and use a maximum of 3 players on the field at the same time of the match.

For teams participating in the continental tournament, the region will be allowed to register 7 players in the competition list, register 4 players in the match and use 3 players on the field at the same time.

If more foreign players are used on the field, Vietnamese teams will avoid playing in a lack of cohesion when entering the international arena.

Last season, Nam Dinh used 7-8 foreign players, but some were not registered to compete in the V.League, some rarely entered the field. After that, Nam Dinh used the most foreign players in the Asian Cup C2 but did not show off their strength as desired.
