On the afternoon of July 2, Ninh Binh club held a ceremony to introduce new head coach - Mr. Gerard Albadalejo. This is a move that shows the great determination of the rookie V.League team in building a force and improving their expertise right in the first season.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Gerard Albadalejo shared: I am very happy to be warmly welcomed in Vietnam. We came here with a spirit of dedication and a clear goal: continuing what we have done, building a strong, united and disciplined team. I consider this an interesting challenge. Action will say it all".
Before signing the contract, Mr. Gerard spent more than 2 months learning about the Vietnamese football environment, from the tournament system to analyzing opponents in the V.League.
He showed seriousness and long-term commitment to the work in Ninh Binh. Not only bringing his experience in leading in Europe, coach Gerard Albadalejo also brought to Vietnam a team of 5 Spanish assistants, in charge of physical strength, goalkeepers, injury recovery and data analysis.
In the past, this coach has led many professional teams such as Lleida Esportiu, Orihuela or Badalona. The highlight of his career was helping Lleida eliminate Real Sociedad - a top team in La Liga - in the King's Cup, as well as playing fairly against Atletico Madrid.
The playing style of Gerard's teams is always highly appreciated for their organization, pressing ability and resilient fighting spirit.
The appearance of coach Gerard is expected to help Ninh Binh create a modern, combat-rich playing style. Along with a squad of quality rookies such as Duc Chien, Ngoc Quang, Quang Nho or Bao Toan, Hoang Duc... Ninh Binh is building a squad with enough depth to compete in the V.League as well as the 2025-2026 National Cup.
