On the morning of July 22, the fanpage of Quang Nam club issued a notice regarding the team's merger. Accordingly, this team is working with leaders at all levels and proposing two options, specifically:
Option 1, Quang Nam club proposed that the leaders of the City People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city pay attention to directing the search and invitation of local businesses, establishing clubs with full capacity, enthusiasm and a consistent commitment to the development of top-notch football and sustainable maintenance to continue accompanying Quang Nam football club and Quang Nam Youth Football Training Center.
Thereby, maintaining a professional, top-notch football playground in Tam Ky area and neighboring communes and wards in the South of Da Nang city to contribute to improving the spiritual life of the people, while promoting the increasingly developed tourism and sports economy.
Option 2, in case there is no new sponsor, with the goal of effectively focusing resources from the state budget to support youth football and focusing on developing and restructuring the Da Nang professional football club into a team rich in tradition... proposed to transfer all staff, workers, athletes, and young players of Quang Nam Football Development Joint Stock Company, Quang Nam Football Club and Quang Nam Youth Football Training Center to SHB Da Nang Sports Joint Stock Company for receipt and management.
Under the post, many fans expressed regret if Quang Nam club no longer participated in Vietnam's professional football tournaments in the near future.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, Quang Nam club will likely not participate in V.League 2025-2026. Instead, this team will be merged with Da Nang club.
Quang Nam was once promoted to V.League after winning the First Division championship in 2023. However, after only two seasons returning to the highest level, the home team at Tam Ky Stadium is facing the prospect of merging.
