On the morning of July 22, upon receiving a report from local residents about the body of a man drifting in Ha Long Bay, between Bai Chay beach and Dau Go cave, the Hon Gai Port Border Guard Station mobilized a boat and 5 officers and soldiers to the scene to salvage it.
The victim was identified as a male, with a tall body, nearly 40 years old, wearing gray pants, T-shirts, a phone in a black bag, and short hair.
The location where the body was discovered was about 500m from the location of the capsized ship in Ha Long Bay on July 19.
Currently, the rescue team has brought the victim's body to shore and handed it over to the authorities to verify the identity and find relatives.
Previously, on the morning of July 21, the authorities of Quang Ninh province found the body of a child in the QN-7105 tourist boat capsized in Ha Long Bay.
The location where the body was found was near Titop Island, Ha Long Bay.
According to verification, this is one of 4 people still missing in the tourist boat capsize in Ha Long Bay that occurred on the afternoon of July 19.
Thus, in the shipwreck that killed 49 people in Ha Long Bay on the afternoon of July 19, in addition to 10 survivors, 36 people died, and 3 victims are still missing at sea.
Along with the work of preventing and combating storm Wipha, the functional forces of Quang Ninh province are still actively searching for the remaining victims in the shipwreck, with the goal and highest priority given to the search and rescue work.
